Rema Hort Mann Foundation was founded in 1995 to carry forward the passion and strength of Rema Hort Mann by providing direct support both to cancer patients needing help during treatment to connect to family and loved ones, and emerging artists at a critical juncture in their careers.
RHMF’s three unique grant programs bind together Rema’s compassion for those around her, and her love of contemporary art and artists. The Quality of Life grant provides support to cancer patients and their families, the Emerging Art grant encourages promising artists by contributing financial support and the Artist Community Engagement grant supports community-based projects that foster cultural exchange.
The Foundation consults with a constantly evolving nominating committee made up of exceptional artists, curators, critics, art professors and art non-profits for artist nominations each year for the Emerging Artist Grant. All of the applications are reviewed by a 5-person selection committee online and in-person. From a nomination pool of over 150 artists each year, eight grantees are selected for each grant cycle.
